In the recent years i started to share my passion for art and analog creativity in a communicative way – working in the field of social work.
I’m deeply convinced that creative working in a communicative setting is a strong basis for self-development and self-confidence – especiallay for young people, who start to ask little an big questions to society and themselves.
Wall Design (Participation project)
Together with young people from the Cologne district of Godorf, a 70m-long wall was redesigned, which forms a central link to the town center and the train station. The motifs and the large lettering were designed together with young people with the aim of making the special features of the district visible. The local shooting club submitted an application to the district council for the implementation, while a private owner approved the wall for the design. “Welcome to Godorf 50997 G-Town” now welcomes all residents and visitors. From an educational perspective, it was important to make participation voluntary, low-threshold and inclusive.

Repaint Your City
In a social space workshop, young people were given the opportunity to immerse facades and objects in their neighborhood in bright colors, shapes, patterns and messages. While architectural concepts often use history and technology as visualization approaches, the project aimed to involve the people on site. The goal is to visually design more public spaces in a democratic process.

Graffiti Workshop
As part of the TalentFestival 2023 at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, young people were able to use two areas throughout the day to learn how to use a spray can creatively. In addition to a drawing area, there was also background information and inspiration on the topic. Experienced young people from Cologne acted as peer coaches.

After a theoretical input on the topic of graffiti, including practical drawing tips, the participants of the NRWTalente Aachen were able to creatively implement their ideas in a relaxed atmosphere. In the second part, the ideas were brought to the wall and the challenges of proportion and scaling were experienced.

Photography Workshop
The NRW Talente Aachen scholarship holders were taught the technical basics of photography and the fundamentals of image composition. The participants were then able to take a short photo tour through the city center of Aachen on their own with their smartphones and apply what they had learned. The creative results were then viewed together and edited using a photo editing app.

Open Space (workshop)
In the context of the International Summit the child-friendly communities, 60 young people and about 20 supervisors from 40 countries came together on monday, the 14. of october in the Abenteuerhallen in Cologne-Kalk. In addition to the wide of various sports activities, under the direction of the artist Johannes Guerreiro, a collage workshop was offered to the participants, who where invited to creatively work on the following subject of the summit: „Our Cities, Our Lifes, Our Futures“

The participants also had the opportunity to gain some insights into collage art, wheter into inspiring contemporary examples, or a small selection of exhibited nonfiction books related to the history of collage/photomontage from the German perspective (Dadaism, Bauhaus …). The works were visibly presented on site and on request from mayoress Henriette Reker at the Cologne city hall.

Graffiti Rallye (paperchase/Schnitzeljagd)
During the autumn holidays i was asked to offer a day agenda for the visitors of the SKM’s Treff im Truck. My aim was to give the young people, who live on the fringe of Cologne, an overview over all the beautiful spaces in the city, where graffiti artists can work legally. Additionally a little challenge was set up: Closeups of current graffiti-pieces asked the participants to be found on the real spots. Working as a team to find the right pictures, they came in lively exchange about colors, form and their personal prefereences related to all the different graffities they saw.
In total, we visited the five most important graffiti hall of fames and galleries in Cologne – during an eight hour day. Finally the group left a fast quickie at the last stop.

Graffiti Sketching/Writing (regular offering)
As a special offering on two days per week i’m leading an offer for kids and youngsters, who like to experience the opportunities of stylewriting. We always beginn with sketching on paper or in our blackbook. Youngsters who already have a more elaborated concept can use cans for free to spray on the permanent installed graffiti walls in the Nippeser Tälchen, Cologne.

Wood Workshop
In the program for children up to the age of 12, a new projects were implemented every week for 6 months with the aim of teaching basic manual skills: Sawing, drilling, rasping, sanding as well as planning and design. In addition to the functional aspects, it was important for me to provide scope for individual creative implementation.
